About Our Director:

Tammy Davison has been in the field of foster care since 1992.  She began her career in a public Children’s Services agency teaching youth, ages 16-18 Independent Living skills.  During her 10 year career with the public agency, she held the positions of on-going caseworker for a group home for 4 years and then she went onto foster care and adoption for the last 6 years.  Tammy is an adoption assessor and has gained much knowledge of the court system, school system, and collaborating with many other service organizations in the community.

In 2002, Tammy saw a need and had a deep desire to work closer with the youth in foster care.  She collaborated with another agency to form Transitions for Youth.  The agency was licensed in July 2002 and has continued to provide quality foster care to youth and children at risk.

Independent Living:

Selina Mitchell is our Independent Living Specialist. She attended Ohio University and graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology/Criminology. She was employed by Gallia County Children Services in 2005 as a School Outreach Caseworker.  During her time with GCCS, she worked closely with families, youth and school personnel to help children find success in the educational setting. Selina joined Transitions for Youth in 2009.  Selina teaches the youth, aged 16-18, the skills they will need when they are out on their own. Selina greatly enjoys working with the youth and foster parents at Transitions for Youth. Seeing the youth learn and become self-sufficient adults brings happiness to her life.

 Professional Treatment Staff:

Melissa Nibert graduated from GW High School in 2003 and began attending West Virginia State University in the fall of 2003. She graduated from West Virginia State in 2007 with a General Education Degree.  She worked in various positions after graduation, during that time she obtained her CDCA. She started working at Transitions for Youth in November of 2012 in the Professional Treatment Staff position. She started attending Marshall University in the Spring of 2013 and she is excited to be graduating in 2014 with a BSW. Melissa enjoys with T.F.Y. foster families and children.
